Youth Flag Football
Northampton County Parks and Recreation is offering a youth flag football league for ages 5 to 16. Players will learn the fundamentals of football and will put their skills and talents to the test during weekend games. Registration is open NOW; league try outs and draft will be held on Saturday August 16th at Indiantown Park 10am to 12pm. The league is scheduled to begin on Saturday September 6th. Practices will be held once during the week starting August 18th. Practice days will be up to the coaches. Registration deadline for this program is Tuesday September 2nd.
Parents, interested in becoming a flag football coach? We are looking for volunteer coaches for this program. Coaches will have the opportunity to coach their child as well as receive a FREE scholarship for their child’s participation in the league.

Northampton County Parks and Recreation has extended the 2014 Cheerleading registration. We encourage ages 5-16 to come out and participate in this NEW and EXCITING program. Our cheer team will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of cheer, tumbling techniques, lifts, team work and much more. This team will be on the sidelines cheering for NCPR programs throughout the year. Registration fees will include a full uniform (shell, skirt, pompoms, socks, briefs, and shoes).

The public is cordially invited to attend a “Community Meeting” concerning the Northampton Middle School Renovation Project.
This meeting will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the former Northampton Middle School located at 7247 Young Street, Machipongo, Va.
The County’s architectural/engineering firm, DJG, Inc., will be in attendance to lead the discussion and solicit comments associated with this project. The intent of the meeting is to assist in the development of a master plan for the re-use of this facility. Preliminary planning envisions extensive renovation of the structure, up to and including demolition of portions of the building.

Northampton County is pleased to announce the opening of the Eastville Waste Collection Center – the County’s sixth solid waste collection site – on Thursday, January 2, 2014.
Hours of Operation:
Monday-Saturday - 7:30 a.m – 6 p.m.
Sunday - 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Northampton County Parks and Recreation is offering line dancing classes at Indiantown Park every Wednesday night at 7pm. Classes are going on now, donations of $5.00 per person at the door are appreciated, all ages welcome. Come out and join the fun on the dance floor.
