Making Sure You Have Enough Food

We rely on money and markets to supply our food needs and when either is scarce, we may panic. Our Food Access & Equity Work Group recommends five actions that will help put food on the table especially when money is short, or stores are low in product, or when a personal illness or community disaster strikes. Click here for tips on how to avoid wasting food; stretching your food dollar; growing your own food; building an emergency pantry and using all available food assistance.

Enjoy a Walk!

Take advantage of eight free opportunities to exercise and breathe in the fresh air. Eastern Shore Healthy Communities worked with eight communities to designate walking trails in Parksley, Onancock, Onley, Melfa, Wachapreague, Nassawadox, Eastville and Cape Charles so that residents could just step outside and walk a mile or residents from other towns could take a walking tour of a new town.
