Construction Manager 

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position will be providing management and oversight to the construction program of the organization. The position would lead the construction department towards continued expansion of the ESVBA network and onboarding customers in an efficient manner. Managing the priorities and also coordinating resource allocation for the effective and efficient delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:
• Overseeing coordination and selection of subcontractors who work on various projects.
• Reviewing the engineering, architectural and splicing drawings for ensuring that all standards and specifications are being followed.
• Responsible for gathering all the necessary licenses and permits.
• Tracking and controlling the construction schedules and the associated costs for achieving project completion within the budget and time allotted.
• Reporting to the senior management on the progress of a project and necessary modifications that has to be executed.
• Working with the ESVBA project management system to ensure jobs are tracked and progress communicated within the system.
• Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed and evaluated to minimize any risks to employees and contractors.

WATER/WASTEWATER OPERATOR

The Northampton County Department of Public Works is accepting applications for a full-time Water & Wastewater Operator. The primary duty of this position is to operate and maintain various county-owned water supply systems and wastewater treatment systems, including testing and reporting, as applicable.

Applicants must possess a valid Class V (or higher) Virginia Waterworks Operator License. A Class IV Waterworks License is preferred. It is also preferred that the applicant possess a valid Class III Virginia Wastewater Works Operator License. The position also requires a high school diploma or GED, a Virginia Driver’s License and at least 3 years of relevant work experience.

Starting salary range for this position is $37,292 to $71,461 depending on experience and qualifications. 9-1-1 Communications Officer

The Eastern Shore of Virginia 9-1-1 Commission is now accepting applications for the position of 9-1-1 Communications Officer. The qualified applicant will work rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays, as well as fill in shifts as needed. 9-1-1 Communications Officers are responsible for answering 9-1-1 calls, verifying the callback number and address of the emergency, determining the nature of the emergency and transferring the call or dispatching the appropriate emergency response unit as required, as well as other associated duties.

Minimum qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent, including some experience in keyboarding or typing. Applicants must be able to speak clearly and distinctly, understand and follow detailed directions, act quickly and effectively during emergencies, and operate complex telecommunications equipment. Desirable qualifications include two years’ experience in law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical services, and/or public safety dispatching. Applicants selected for employment will be subject to a background investigation and drug screening.

The salary range for this position is $38,399 to $58,467.

Maintenance Worker III

(Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing)

The Northampton County Department of Public Works is accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance Worker III. The primary duty of this position is to maintain County facilities and equipment with an emphasis on electrical, HVAC and plumbing work.

This position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of electrical, HVAC and plumbing experience. The position will be responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to minor to moderate mechanical, plumbing and electrical maintenance, repairs and new installations and coordinating with and overseeing contractors.

Pay Range: $41,739.48- $63,611.10

Starting pay will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Requires a valid driver’s license.
