PUBLIC NOTICE
The Northampton County Board of Supervisors will meet and conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Chambers located at 16404 Courthouse Road in Eastville, Virginia, on the following matter:
Minor SUP 2026-02: Michael and Amy Young (property owners) represented by Joseph V. Sherman (applicant) are applying for the continued use of a coop to keep chickens as pets on a residential lot, a use requiring a special use permit in the Existing Subdivision/Residential – Rural Village Rural Residential (ES/R-RVRR) zoning district. The property is located at 4450 Wilsonia Shores Drive, Machipongo, Virginia, and is further described as Tax Map 38C2-1-20A.
The application file may be viewed in the Planning, Permitting, and Enforcement Office in the County Administration Building, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., or viewed electronically on the Diligent Community Portal.
