The Hampton Roads Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will be hosting a half-day workshop for tourism-related businesses on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Eastern Shore Community College.
The Seasons of Success workshop will help businesses sharpen their skills, boost profits, and prepare for the upcoming year. Topics include:
- How to attract more customers with Google Analytics and digital marketing
- Smart seasonal choices – when to open, when to close, and how to staff effectively
- Grants and funding options to support your business growth
- Exclusive tourism and visitor data for the Eastern Shore

The workshop will include interactive activities and feature staff from the Hampton Roads SBDC including:
- Bill Holloran – Business analyst with years of experience helping businesses evaluate, plan, and grow
- Paula Short – Customer engagement specialist who built and sold a global brand, now dedicated to helping small businesses succeed
- Todd DuRose – Marketing strategist and “guru” with top-tier clients, including Macy’s
- Donna Norman – HR professional with extensive experience at Dollar Tree, an expert in staffing and workforce solutions
This workshop is supported by a grant from the Virginia Tourism Corporation.
